The Thai woman, Bussarakam Saothong, 23, from Surin, has been arrested following an arrest warrant from the Chonburi District Court.

Bussarakam was arrested in Prachuap Khiri Khan after police tracked down from her Facebook that she had opened a spa in Hua Hin.

She was taken back to the Don Huafor Police Station in Chonburi today. Bussarakam has denied all charges while police have refused bail, citing what they say is solid evidence she is the correct suspect and has allegedly defrauded multiple men.

The scam, according to Don Huafor police, involved the suspect meeting a victim on a dating site and claiming she had issues signing up for financing for purchasing a new car, asking men for assistance with the first sign up and then saying she would take over payments. After the victims had agreed she vanished, deleting her profiles and phone numbers and leaving victims stuck with all payments for the cars.

Deputy Police Chief Lieutenant Colonel Jirawat Jansipet of the Don Haufor Police told The Pattaya News that many men have filed reports to many police stations in Chonburi which are in Don Huafor, Sane Suk, Samet, Panthong and Mueang Chonburi.

He stated the woman will remain in custody pending an upcoming court case. It is unknown if she has retained the services of a lawyer at this time.
