Chonburi-

A fisherman was rescued from drowning after drinking alcohol before vanishing under the sea in Bang Saen.

Emergency responders were notified of the incident on Bang Saen Beach road near an international school yesterday afternoon.

The rescue teams arrived at the scene to find Mr. Montri Palahan, 45, unconscious on the beach. He was rushed to a local hospital after being given medical assistance at the scene.

Mrs. Maneerat Peayoosuk, 56, who saw the incident, told The Pattaya News that Mr. Montri was heavily drinking alcohol next to his fishing boat near the beach.

He went underwater to remove an anchor. She did not see him come up from the water and then she called for help.

Mr. Boonpan Saranart, 44, who first pulled Mr. Montri up from the water said he has warned Montri and other fisherman not to drink before going fishing as this was not the first incident in the area.
