Two seriously injured after motorbike collides with 18 wheel truck in Chonburi

Two people have sustained serious injuries after a motorbike collided with an 18 wheel truck in Mueang Chonburi yesterday.

Rescue workers were notified of the accident this morning near a school in Nong Ree.

They arrived at the scene to find Mr. Somchock Ketbamrung, 40, the motorbike driver and his girlfriend who was a passenger. They had both sustained serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Rescue staff found a damaged motorbike and an 18 wheel truck nearby.

The truck driver, 23 year old Mr. Konkamon Yonpan said he had turned on the left turn signal. He did not see the motorbike driven by Mr. Somchock which was driving allegedly at high speed. Konkamon was not injured in the accident.

Chonburi police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action and CCTV in the area will be reviewed.
