Two teenagers seriously injured after crashing into truck in Chonburi

Two teenagers were seriously injured after crashing into a truck in the Panthong district yesterday.

The Panthong Police was notified of the accident at 4:00 PM yesterday on a road in Baan Kao at an intersection.

Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Mr. Peeratchai Naknan and Ms. Mayteewadee Kaewlumthong, both 17 years old.

They have sustained serious injuries, including broken legs and were taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Nearby, rescue workers found both damaged vehicles, a motorbike and a truck, on the road.

The truck driver, 39 year old Waris Wiritchai, told police that he was taking a right turn at the intersection.

The motorbike carrying the two teenagers, which was driving at reported high speed, had allegedly cut in front of him. He was unable to avoid the collision.

Panthong police are checking CCTV footage in the area to find the exact cause of the accident and review the video footage against the statements of the drivers and witnesses.
