Pattaya City approved to hold film festival in future to help boost tourism

Pattaya-

The Pattaya City Council has approved a proposal to holding a Pattaya Film Festival in the future to stimulate tourism.

The Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem told The Pattaya News yesterday that “the National Thai Film Committee and the Ministry of Culture has suggested holding a Pattaya Film Festival to help boost tourism.”

“They believe that the Pattaya area is suitable and that Pattaya City is ready to hold the festival.” Sonthaya added.

“Pattaya is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Thailand and in the world and this is a critical part of getting the city back to normal.” Sonthaya said yesterday.

The Pattaya News notes that no timeframe or date around when the festival would take place was given. Pattaya is also back to planning the annual music festival and fireworks festival which were delayed previously due to Covid19 measures. No dates have been proposed or mentioned for those measures either.
