Teenage suspect arrested after colliding with other vehicle, fleeing and then crashing his truck in Pattaya area

A pickup truck crashed into a power pole after previously colliding with another vehicle and then trying to escape in Soi Khao Maikaew earlier this week.

Captain Boonsong Yingyong of the Huayyai Police was notified of the incident at 5:00 PM near a reservoir in Huay Namlueak on Sunday, June 14.

Police and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a damaged BMW on the road that had been previously hit by the suspect.

The suspect’s vehicle, a dark green pickup truck, was found having crashed into a power pole two kilometres away after fleeing the previous accident scene.

Witnesses told The Pattaya News that the pickup truck was driving at high speed before colliding with the BMW and then speeding away.

The pickup truck driver, 18 year old Damrongsak Nuanprakon, was taken to the Huayyai Police Station.

He faces multiple legal charges pertaining to the incident and was also tested for signs of drugs and/or alcohol in his system. The results of the test were not made immediately available to the press.
