Chonburi province reaches 26 days with no new confirmed cases of Covid-19

Chonburi-

Chonburi province in Thailand, which includes the district of Banglamung and city of Pattaya, has reached 26 consecutive days with no new cases of the Covid19 Coronavirus.

Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem

Pattaya City is ten days ahead and at 36 days with no new confirmed additional cases of Covid-19.

Chonburi is hoping to achieve two consecutive fourteen day cycles without a single new confirmed case of Covid-19. This will move the province as a whole out of the at risk catagory which contains all provinces who have had active cases in less than 28 days.

Pattaya has already hit this achievement and is labeled a “white zone” or an area clear of any recorded cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus.

Chonburi is, as a note, home to one of the countries secure state quarantine facilities where patients from overseas are treated for Covid-19 and are quarantined for several weeks after returning to the Kingdom.

Currently, Thailand is only bringing back repatriated Thai citizens to the country with inbound travel still restricted.
