Chonburi-
Chonburi Public Relations announced no new cases of the Covid-19 Coronavirus this morning through their social media channels.
This marks six of the last eight days with zero cases. The three confirmed cases were all very close contacts of previous confirmed cases of Covid-19.
Pattaya has been proactively testing high risk groups for the past week at the Grand Bella hotel, testing up to several hundred people a day for signs of Covid-19 infection.
Only one test was positive which later was determined to be a very close contact of a previous confirmed Covid19 case.
High risk groups being tested are those who work or live in places with previous confirmed Covid19 cases and those who are still working in occupations who have heavy interactions with the public, such as taxi drivers, Immigration, convienence and supermarket store employees, etc.
Chonburi officials have stated to the Pattaya News that so far there is no sign of widespread local infection based on the testing. Pattaya City proper remains under closure restrictions currently to assist with the testing process and identify high risk groups. Non residents of Pattaya may not enter the city unless they have an essential reason.
Only sixteen people are classified currently as persons under investigation for Covid-19 in Chonburi, the lowest number in over a month.
