Police and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene 50 metres from a police booth to find 23 year old Ms Fenyi Liu, a Chinese national.

She told police that she and her friend were walking to a tour bus. A Thai male suspect on a motorbike had snatched her bag before speeding away.

Inside the bag she had her passport and 15,800 baht cash, she told The Pattaya News. She called for help from local residents nearby who called police. It was not clear if police were present at the police booth at the time of the incident.
