Pattaya –
A British tourist has been arrested last evening, January 3, 2020 after being accused of stealing a motorbike and a wallet in front of a beer bar in Central Pattaya.

The Pattaya City Police Chief Colonel Khemmarin Pitsamai told The Pattaya News today that they have arrested 37 year old Mr. Ben Frost, a British national originally from Hammersmith.

He had entered Thailand five days ago as a tourist. He was arrested in Central Pattaya after a complaint from the beer bar owner and due to CCTV footage which helped identify him as a suspect.

Ben was charged with theft. At first he refused all charges but later according to Colonel Khemmarin he allegedly admitted the charges after police presented clear evidence and showed him the CCTV footage. The footage, which the Pattaya news has seen, appears to show a person that matches Mr. Frost’s description taking a motorbike from in front of a local beer bar.

On January 1, Ben is accused of having stolen another motorbike at a beer bar on Pattaya Second road which belongs to 23 year old Mr. Nattawut Damdong.

This CCTV footage appears to show Mr. Frost taking a motorbike that was not his from in front of Soi 5.

He remains in custody on the charges according to Pattaya Police and the British Embassy has been contacted. It is unclear at this time what happened to the motorbikes and wallet he is accused of stealing.
