Shark caught near Bang Saen beach
Chonburi –
A 15 kilogram Bull shark has been caught near Bang Saen beach yesterday evening, December 29, 2019.
The shark has been caught near the beach on Saturday night with a fishing line by 32 year old Mr Seri Limnao.
He told the local media it is a bull shark which is about 15 kilograms. Bull sharks are extremely rare in the Gulf of Thailand and this was the first sighting in the area in a significant period of time.
He could not let the shark go back into the sea as it would die after suffering an injury from his fishing hook.
He gave some parts of the shark to local residents in the area to eat as food.
He said the shark ate only other fish and was no danger to tourists in the area. He had never heard of any shark biting swimmers here.
However, according to https://animals.howstuffworks.com/fish/sharks/most-dangerous-shark9.htm
The bull shark is very dangerous simply because it’s more likely to come into contact with humans than some other species of sharks.

It can live in both salt and freshwater, and the bull has been spotted in water so shallow that humans are walking around in it. Local officials said this was a very rare exception of a bull shark in the area and was not common in local waters.
