12 Chinese arrested in online “Boiler Room” scam in Banglamung –

12 Chinese nationals have been arrested yesterday, August 14th, 2019, in a scam that involves fake products sold online at a house in Nongprue.

The arrest was led by Chonburi Police Commander Maj Gen Nantawut Suppamongkon, Nongprue Police Chief Col Chitdaecha Songhong and Pattaya Tourist Police Inspector Lt Col Piyaphong Ensan. The suspects had entered Thailand with a tourist visa.

They are accused of selling online products via a ‘Cute Cute’ chat application.

They get more than 20,000 baht each per month for their salary they told the Pattaya News from their employer, who is not in the country.

The damage done by this gang amounted to about B10 million according to the arresting officers, including local residents.

They are facing charges of illegal work in the kingdom and not having a work permit.
