British tourist found deceased in hotel room in Bangkok under suspicious circumstances

Bangkok-

31-year-old British tourist Luke Ramage was found in a hotel room in Bangkok on Friday evening dead under suspicious circumstances the Associated Press reported today.
Mr. Ramage, a father of two, who owned his own cleaning company in Consett had just arrived in Thailand hours before. He had posted about his upcoming trip on Facebook and had been planning to start in Bangkok, visit Pattaya and then travel the country.

A receptionist at the Bavana hotel stated to the press that an unidentified man who said he was a friend of Mr. Ramage came to the counter and said that Luke had a problem and to check on him. The receptionist did so and stated she found him deceased lying on his bed.
The room was reported to be ransacked and the safe open and empty. Mr. Ramage is alleged to have bruises and markings on his body that were consistent with a struggle or fight. His luggage was unopened and had not been unpacked.

The receptionist returned to the front desk to call the police and discovered the unidentified man who claimed to be a friend of Mr. Ramage had vanished.
Mr. Ramage had posted check-ins on Facebook at a different hotel hours earlier and a post with two unidentified men at a local bar hours before he died.

Police are investigating the incident and reviewing cameras. The family and embassy have been informed of the death.
