Pattaya Police Arrest Thai Drug Dealer Allegedly Supplying Local Nightclubs

Pattaya —

Pattaya police arrested a Thai drug dealer who was allegedly selling illicit substances to local nightclubs. The suspect was caught red-handed while delivering drugs in various locations around Pattaya.

The arrest unfolded on June 27th, 2024, at 10:05 PM, when Pattaya police received a tip-off that the suspect would drop off drugs in Soi Thepprasit 7. Officers hid around the alley and observed the suspect, identified as Mr. Sittichai “Bank” Sapsawat, arriving on a Yamaha Fino motorcycle.

The 30-year-old Thai man was spotted placing a package later found to be containing ecstasy and Happy Five pills wrapped in a black mask under a wooden pole. Police officers then arrested him, and he reportedly confessed to being a drug dealer after being interrogated.

Mr. Sittichai revealed that he had been told by his unidentified boss to place the drugs for pickup by agents who would then distribute them to various nightclubs in Pattaya. He further admitted to placing a similar package containing drugs under a power pole in Soi Sukhumvit Pattaya 66, just 4-5 kilometers away.

Police escorted Mr. Sittichai to the location of the second package and found ecstasy, ketamine, and Happy Five pills. They then proceeded to search his residence in Na Jomtien where they uncovered a large haul of illegal drugs, including ecstasy, ketamine, Happy Five pills, methamphetamine, and Happy Water. These drugs were concealed in a cooler box along with weighing scales and numerous empty drug packets.

Furthermore, police discovered a notebook containing records of Mr. Sittichai’s drug dealing activities. The notebook included a list of over 20 agents who purchased drugs from him, along with daily sales records ranging from 5,000 to 8,000 baht per day.

Mr. Sittichai was arrested and charged with possession of category 1 narcotic substances (methamphetamine, Happy Water) for sale, possession of category 2 narcotic substances (ecstasy, ketamine, Happy Five) for sale, and driving under the influence of category 1 narcotic substances.

Mr. Sittichai’s arrest also led to the arrest of his accomplice, Mr. Saran “Neng” Rotsakul, 22, in Soi Sukhumvit 91. Upon meeting him, he handed over 1,400 methamphetamine pills and 200 grams of methamphetamine to undercover officers. He was immediately apprehended and taken into custody.
