Nakhon Ratchasima —

At 9:40 AM, on June 23rd, 2024, Khao Yai National Park officials received a report of a wild bull fatally crashing into a cement pillar while chasing a local resident who was gathering vegetables near the park’s border in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima.

According to Surasawadee Rueangjab, the village headwoman of Pong Ta Long Subdistrict, a local resident was collecting vegetables near the Khao Yai National Park boundary when a wild bull started chasing them. The bull ultimately collided with a tree and a cement pillar, resulting in its death.

Upon initial investigation, Khao Yai National Park officials discovered the severely damaged cement pillar and tree. The bull, a female estimated to be between 15 and 20 years old, had its left leg shackled by a barbed wire fence and sustained a broken neck. No evidence of human-inflicted harm was found.

Officials buried the bull near the site after the examination. Reports indicate that wild animals, including elephants, bulls, black bears, boars, and deer, are frequently spotted at night searching for food. Officials have advised residents to exercise caution, as there have been multiple incidents of locals being attacked by these animals.
