Indian Tourist Reports to Police That He Was Assaulted and Robbed in Pattaya

An Indian tourist filed a report to Pattaya police early Monday morning, June 17th, claiming he was attacked and robbed in front of a hotel in Pattaya.

At 5:36 AM, Mr. Gobin Manimaran, a 34-year-old Indian tourist, filed a report with Pol. Lt. Col. Boonsong Yingyong, Deputy Inspector of Investigation at Pattaya Police Station. Mr. Manimaran reported that he was assaulted and robbed by a group of men in front of the White Rose Hotel in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

According to an anonymous witness, Mr. Manimaran came to seek his assistance, stating that he was attacked by three men. The assailants then snatched his wallet containing around $50 or about 1,750 baht and his iPhone 10 mobile phone before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred late at night on June 16th, 2024.

Mr. Manimaran initially asked the hotel to review CCTV footage at the scene. However, the hotel staff advised him to file a police report first. He then proceeded to the police station to file a complaint.

Mr. Manimaran suffered slight bruises on his body.

Pol. Lt. Col. Boonsong said police are investigating the incident.
