Pattaya —

A Thai motorcyclist punched a minibus driver in Pattaya following a minor collision on Thepprasit Road yesterday, May 23rd.

The altercation took place at the entrance to the Colosseum Theatre on Thapprasit Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Upon arrival, rescue workers and Pattaya police found the minibus with visible damage to the front. The damage was caused by the impact from a motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Mr. Kritsana Thomkham. The driver of the minibus was identified as 61-year-old Mr. Thananan Sophanudompat. Both Mr. Kritsana and Mr. Thananan were unharmed by the collision.

However, Pattaya police reported that as Mr. Kritsana and Mr. Thananan were talking about the accident, tensions suddenly erupted. Mr. Kritsana, the motorcycle driver, reportedly punched Mr. Thananan, causing a laceration to his upper lip.

Police officers immediately intervened and separated both parties.

According to Mr. Thananan, he was driving his minibus to drop off passengers at the theatre. As he slowed down to make a U-turn and signaled to enter the theater, Mr. Kritsana on his motorcycle allegedly failed to stop, resulting in the collision.

Both parties were invited to provide statements at the Dongtan Police Box. Police were reviewing CCTV footage to determine who was at fault to proceed with legal action.
