Chinese Woman Tragically Drowns in Swimming Pool at Pattaya Residence

A 68-year-old Chinese woman sadly drowned in the swimming pool of her residence in a village near Pattaya on Tuesday, May 14th.

Pol. Lt. Siriyaporn Kongphetsak, Deputy Investigator of the Nongprue Police Station, was notified of the incident and dispatched a team of rescue workers to the scene at a residence in a village near Mapprachan Reservoir in Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the body of the victim, Ms. Zhang Weijing, a 68-year-old Chinese national, floating face down in the swimming pool. She was retrieved from the water and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police officers examined the premises and found no signs of struggle or foul play.

According to a neighbor, Mr. Yupha Jankeaw, the victim’s unidentified daughter found her mother’s body floating in the pool upon returning home at 7:30 PM. The daughter had earlier left the house to run errands, leaving her mother alone.

Police officers photographed the scene and sent the body for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
