Citizens Flood Back to Bangkok After Songkran: Almost 100,000 Travelers in One Day, Transport Company Prepares Extra Services

On April 16th, 2024, Mr. Atthawit Rakchamroon, the acting director and president of Transport Company Ltd., publicly revealed a massive number of citizens traveling back to Bangkok after Songkran from April 15th to 17th.

According to passenger log information on April 15th, more than 99,995 individuals traveled round trip via public buses and vans with more than 6,689 trips in total

Atthawit further added that he issued an order following the Ministry of Transport policy to station masters of the Transport Company across Thailand to facilitate travelers with comfort, convenience, safety, and convergence.

To meet the demand for the use of public transportation to Bangkok, additional buses and vans were prepared, and all vehicles and drivers were inspected before providing their services, according to Atthawit.

For inbound travel, the Transport Company buses would stop at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal first before heading to the Bangkok Bus Terminal as a final destination. Both terminals were intermodal transportation hubs that connected trains, MRT, BTS, and other outbound public transportation routes, stated Atthawit.
