Bangkok –
PM (Particulate Matter) 2.5 air pollution level is exceeding the standard in many areas in the Central region as well as in Bangkok and its vicinity until this weekend, according to the Center for Air Pollution Mitigation (CAPM).
The CAPM, under the authorities of the Pollution Control Department, reported this morning, December 7th, that the air emissions of PM2.5 dust particles in Bangkok are measured between 19-59 μg/m3.
The level of PM2.5 dust was found to exceed the average in 2 areas, namely around Ma Charoen Road in Nong Khaem District, which was at 55 μg/m3. and the Mahachai sub-district of Samut Sakhon Province, which was at 52 μg/m3.
For the northern regions, the concerning areas were Nai Mueang Subdistrict of Phitsanulok province, recorded at 60 μg/m3 and Tha Luang Subdistrict of Phichit province, which was at 55 μg/m3.
The other parts of the country, including the northeastern, eastern, and southern regions, are still at healthy levels this week, according to the Department. Meanwhile, air quality in Bangkok is forecast to begin to affect health due to the increase of PM2.5 accumulation for the next 7 days until December 11th or the 12th. and will decrease the 13th.
The public is warned to take care of their health, reduce outdoor activities, and wear masks and other self-protection equipment if necessary.
