A big bike driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after crashing into a pickup truck in Mueang Chonburi.
Tri Khunnatham rescue workers reported that they were notified of the accident at about noon yesterday (November 13th) on Sukhumvit Road in the Nong Maidang sub-district near the Chonburi Land Transport office.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene of the accident to find a damaged 650cc big bike on the road.
Nearby, rescue staff found the body of the driver who was identified as Mr. Supachai Phumung, 37, from Khon Kaen. His helmet was found at the scene.
The pickup truck driver was waiting for police at the scene near his damaged pickup truck. He was not named to the press.
Witnesses said the pickup truck was crossing the road when the big bike, which was allegedly driving at high speed, slammed into the pickup truck. The helmet flew off from the driver’s head and appeared to be unsecured.
However, Mueang Chonburi police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action.
