Chonburi informs people who recently visited provincial employment office to test for Covid -19 following positive migrant worker case

The Chonburi Department of Public Health this morning (January 21st) has informed people who have visited the Chonburi Employment Office and in front of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Office (OrBorJor) in the Samet sub-district, Mueang Chonburi district this month that they should get a test for Covid – 19, regardless if they feel well or not, out of precaution.

Dr. Wichai Thanasopon, the Deputy-Director of the Chonburi Department of Public Health, released the information in a social media statement online.

“We found a migrant worker infected with Covid -19 who had visited the Chonburi Employment Office. We have already investigated and traced down their close contacts and quarantined these individuals, who so far negative for Covid-19.”

“We are working on active case finding to find as many infected patients as we can in order to control the spread of the virus in Chonburi.”

“So, anyone who has visited the Chonburi Employment Office, the shop in front of the office, and the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Office since January 4th, please get a Covid -19 test at a nearby hospital. Those who visited these locations will be able to get a test for free* (There may be some additional terms and conditions, please contact the Chonburi Department of Public Health regarding this).”

“The Chonburi Employment Office is now temporarily closed from today onward while we test staff out of precaution, although there are no signs of other people infected at this time.”

The Chonburi Department of Public Health this morning (January 21st) has announced one new confirmed case of Covid-19.
