Car driver goes missing after crashing his vehicle into a road barrier in the Pattaya area

Chonburi –

A car driver mysteriously disappeared after crashing his vehicle into a road barrier during the early hours of today, October 11.

Rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Radio Rescue Center received an alert regarding the car accident from a Good Samaritan in the Bang Lamung District, Chonburi, at 1:30 AM. Pattaya News reporters accompanied the rescue team to the scene of the accident.

A bronze sedan was spotted crashing into a road barrier while presumably attempting to make a right turn according to a witness to the incident. The front and bonnet of the vehicle reportedly caught on fire and were heavily damaged.

Rescue officers along with firefighters eventually managed to contain the fire and attempted to look for the car owner who reportedly disappeared from the scene long before the rescue officers arrived.

Rescue staff initially assumed either the driver was injured and went to a hospital or he was intoxicated and fled the scene to avoid facing drunk-driving charges. A further official investigation and a search for the driver will be conducted with the assistance of CCTV in the vicinity of the accident.
