Thailand announces one new confirmed imported case of Covid-19 in Thailand

Bangkok-

The Ministry of Public Health released an update this morning announcing one new confirmed imported case of Covid-19 was discovered in Thailand in the past 24 hours.

The case is a six year old boy who recently returned from South Africa on a repatriation flight.

The boy was in state quarantine and had not been exposed to the general public.

Today is the 27th day in a row with no new confirmed cases locally spread in Thailand. The government is hoping to hit 28 days, or two gestation periods of the virus, in order to feel confident about the disease and possibility of asymptomatic cases in Thailand. If this happens, which would be tomorrow, Thailand would be designated a “low risk” country for the Covid-19 virus.
