Pattaya-
The popular Khao Kheow open zoo will re-open in the Pattaya area on Monday, June 15th after several months of closure due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus crisis.
The re-opening will feature free admission from the 15th-30th*(Editor’s Note, it is unclear and answers have been mixed if this is only for Thai Nationals or if foreigners with proof of residence, such as a work permit or housing certificate, can get the same deal. We suggest to contact the park directly to clarify what is needed for the promotional offer).
The re-opening was announced by the Minister of the Environment, Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment earlier in the month and confirmed by the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration.
The park will have strict new hygiene measures and will also require booking in advance to visit the park either by phone or through their website. Walk-in customers will not be allowed, at least at the grand re-opening.
Some shows and indoor activities may be closed, the zoo cautioned. Additionally visitors have to wear a mask, check in through the Thai “ChaNa” covid-19 tracing application, wash their hands with sanitizer and go through a mandatory temperature check.
The Zoo will have a limit of two thousand visitors a day, divided into two sessions. The morning session will be from 8:00 AM to Noon and the afternoon session will be Noon to 5:00 PM.
