Prisoner Escapes from Bang Lamung Hospital After Genital Surgery with Wife’s Alleged Assistance

Bang Lamung—

At 2:00 AM, on December 9th, 2023, Bang Lamung police received a report of a prisoner who escaped with alleged assistance from his wife from Bang Lamung hospital after having undergone genital surgery.

According to a report by Bang Lamung police, a prisoner who was publicly identified as Mr. Thanaphat Mayod escaped from the hospital after his wife who was later publicly identified as Ms. Sangwasana Kuaysuwan had visited him.
Sangwasana was captured shortly after and reportedly confessed her accomplishment after receiving a call from Thanaphat asking her to buy a bolt cutter for him.

After the correction officers investigated CCTV in the vicinity, they revealed details to the public at 4:00 PM that the bolt cutter was hidden inside an opaque plastic bag while his wife paid Thanaphat a visit and secretly gave it to him.

Two guards were stationed in front of the prisoners’ room at the hospital, however, they reportedly did not search the opaque bag. Thanaphat reportedly slipped through the guards observations.
It was reported by the police that another person who was a former prisoner lent Thanaphat a phone to call his wife for help.

However, the director of Bang Lamung Hospital asserted that Thanaphat might not have gone too far as he had still been undergoing surgery when he escaped and had a tube on his swollen genital area. The police officers were believed to be able to capture Thanaphat in no time, said the director of Bang Lamung Hospital.

It was unclear what Thanaphat was in jail for or why he needed the surgery, notes The Pattaya News.

Anyone recognizing the escaped prisoner should call 199, 1155, or contact the Pattaya police immediately.
