Burglars Break into Room in Pattaya with Victim’s Hidden Key

Pattaya —

Two men snuck into the room of a Thai woman in Pattaya using a key that the woman had stashed away in front of her premises and stole various valuables.

The CCTV camera of the incident scene captured the two culprits arriving at the site in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi, at 6 PM on June 12th. Their vehicle did not have a license plate.

The incident scene was a rental room of a Thai woman, Ms. Namphueng Iamsiri, a 29-year-old cosmetics salesperson. She had gone to work while the incident took place.

According to the CCTV footage, the first suspect appeared to be about 30-40 years old, tall and muscular, wearing a blue shirt and long pants, while the second suspect was of medium build, wearing a white tank top, jeans, flip-flops, and had a tattoo on his arm. Their faces were fully concealed with full-face motorcycle helmets.

The two men somehow were able to quickly locate Ms. Namphueng’s house key that she often stashed away in her motorcycle helmet left in front of the room. They then conveniently walked into the room and stole Ms. Namphueng’s various items including amulets, a phone, and two piggy banks. The total damage was over 10,000 baht, Ms. Namphueng told The Pattaya News.

After the incident, Ms. Namphueng filed a report at the Banglamung Police Station along with the CCTV recording of the thievery as evidence. She said she had to leave the key outside because her 8-year-old daughter needed to use it to enter the room when she got home after school. The victim admitted she was bewildered how the thieves were about to unearth the location of her key.

Banglamung Police are working on tracking down the suspects via CCTV footage.
