Bueng Kan province enacts mandatory quarantine for visitors from five high-risk provinces, including Bangkok

Bueng Kan, Thailand

The North-Eastern province of Bueng Kan, which borders Laos and Nong Khai, has announced restrictions on travel for visitors from five high-risk areas only days before this year’s Songkran festival.

Normally, Songkran is the busiest travel period of the year.

For visitors from Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Nakhon Pathom they will be required to do a ten day monitored quarantine if entering the province, effective immediately.

This is the second province, following Buriram, that has enacted restrictions on people coming from these areas due to fears of Covid-19 stemming from entertainment venues.

The announcement was made on the Bueng Kan PR page. The page noted bars will remain open in the province but under strict observation.
