Pattaya man seriously injured after being slashed with a knife by colleague in alleged unprovoked attack

Banglamung, Chonburi-

A man has sustained serious injuries after being slashed by his colleague at a worker camp in Banglamung after midnight. Witnesses claim the attack was unprovoked.

The Nongprue Police was notified of the incident at 12:03 A.M. in Soi Khao Noi.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene following an urgent phone call.

The injured party, Mr. Nueng Roipai, 40, had sustained serious injuries from slash wounds to his head and his left arm was bleeding heavily. Nearby, rescue workers found an approximately 50 centimeter long knife on the ground. Nueng was rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Ms. Banyen Dasa, 41, who said she is Mr. Nueng’s wife, told Banglamung police, “My husband had been drinking alcohol with his friends including the suspect. They work in the same company.”

“The suspect was heavily drunk. Before he attacked my husband he chased after a dog with his knife trying to slash the canine that he didn’t know for apparently no reason.” Banyen stated.

“After that, he attacked Mr. Nueng for no reason before going back to his room in the camp nearby.” Banyen concluded.

Banglamung police stated the suspect was missing when they went to his room to interview the man. They are currently following leads to apprehend the man, who hasn’t been identified to the press at this time.

Nueng is expected to recover from his wounds at a local hospital.
