Pattaya-

A Terminal 21 Pattaya department store executive leader has discussed and gained approval with the Pattaya City Mayor to build a 1,400 space free parking lot garage that will cost 400 million baht which is expected to be done later this year.

A team of Terminal 21 Pattaya executives led by Mr. Prasert Siulanphong discussed the proposal with Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunplume earlier this week.

Terminal 21 says the proposed parking garage is intended to facilitate people in Pattaya following the ‘NEO PATTAYA’ concept.

The parking building will have nine levels near Food Land at Terminal 21 Pattaya.

The parking area will be for 1,400 cars and will cost about 400 million baht.  The parking area will be free for everyone and is intended as a major parking center for people to travel around Pattaya as well as to be utilized for events, shuttles to tourist attractions and the beach, and future parking for a proposed monorail project. People who park at the garage will not need to be Terminal 21 shoppers as the project is proposed to assist the city overall especially during major events like the music festival and fireworks shows.

The project is expected to be started in March and expected to be done by at the end of this year will coincide when many in the tourism industry are hoping to see restrictions on border arrivals ease and tourist begin to return in larger numbers.

Mayor Sonthaya added, “This is good that we are cooperating to develop Pattaya tourism together. I am sure that Pattaya will be back to normal after the pandemic and we have already seen signs that many people cannot wait to return to Pattaya after almost a year in their home countries and unable to visit. This has been a very difficult year for all of us, but we have to look forward to the future with a sense of optimism.”
