Chonburi announces 27 new local transmission cases of Covid – 19 with the majority in Si Racha, Chonburi health office looking for “person of interest”

The Chonburi Public Health Office this afternoon (January 7th) has announced 27 new confirmed cases of local transmission of Covid –19. They have also announced they are urgently looking to find a 50-year-old woman who is a person of interest, without providing more details.

Of those 27 cases, 19 are in Si Racha, five are in Banglamung and three are in Rayong (Confirmed cases originally from Chonburi being treated in Rayong). The total is 14 males and 13 females.

The total number of Chonburi confirmed cases in this new series of infections is now 447 with one death that we previously reported on, a 47-year-old Thai woman with previous health issues.

Of those 447, 443 are being treated at the hospital/quarantine (Thailand has a policy that all Covid – 19 positive patients MUST be given treatment and observation and cannot self-isolate at home.).

Twelve people have recovered/are now clear of the virus. While one is ‘being followed for treatment.’

In addition the Chonburi Public Health Office this afternoon has announced, “URGENT Ms Suang Cherdchai, 50, please contact back to the Chonburi Public Health Office 038-119-777.”

The Pattaya News noted that the Chonburi Public Health Office has not provided any other detail about the woman.

Of those 447, 210 are in Banglamung, 161 are in Si Racha, 31 are in Muneag Chonburi, 15 are in Rayong (Confirmed cases originally from Chonburi being treated in Rayong), 12 are in Baan Bueng, 10 are in Sattahip, Seven are in Panat Nikhom and one is in Koh Si Chang.

Yesterday (January 6th) the Chonburi Public Health Office has announced 30 new confirmed cases of local transmission of Covid –19.
