Monk found hung in Chonburi temple, no sign of foul play

Chonburi-

A monk was found hung at a temple in Chonburi yesterday morning.

The Mueang Chonburi Police was notified of the incident at 7:30 AM yesterday morning (November 26th) at a temple in the Baansuan sub-district.

Rescue workers arrived at the scene to find the body of the monk, 68, hung near the monk housing. His name was withheld per Pattaya News policy.

No signs of struggle were found on his body.

A letter which was reportedly written by the monk was found stating that he wanted to die. However, it did not give the reasons why.

Monks and nuns at the temple said they have no idea why the monk died by suicide. They stated to the Pattaya News that the man had no known health issues or problems they were aware of.
