1. Parliament to meet this week to debate potential constitutional charter reform.

Thai parliament will be holding a special session on November 17th and 18th of this week to debate a potential constitutional charter. Pro-democracy protesters are watching this carefully as it is one of their core demands. This will be a situation to watch. Here is more about this below:

2. Beach Road food festival and long weekend approaching

A long holiday weekend is scheduled for the end of this week, one of the government’s additional long weekends to help domestic tourism. These always help Pattaya and is likely to be very busy.

On November 19 to the 22 is a four day long holiday weekend and Pattaya is hoping to take advantage of increased traffic by having a food festival on Beach Road. The festival will stretch from the Soi six area to about Central Festival and will feature dozens of tents and special food vendors.

3. More information on single entry tourist visa likely

We shared the news last week that despite no official government announcements or discussions from TAT, CCSA, MOFA, DDC, etc that a single entry tourist visa has “popped up” on many embassy websites around the world. There are still questions on this and the number of hoops and paperwork, especially a money requirement, is significant. More info on this is likely to be shared over the next week according to TAT sources.
