Large python snared after reportedly eating beloved rooster in Chonburi

Chonburi-

A large python has been caught after reportedly eating a beloved rooster in Chonburi.

The python was caught on Wednesday by rescue workers, who had received a call from the Lieutenant Colonel Weera Yimyam at a house in Baan Suan.

They arrived at a chicken coop near the house to find the reptile inside with about 50 roosters.

It took more than a half an hour for rescue workers who used a snake snare to catch the python before putting it into a bag.

The python is about five meters long and weighed about forty kilograms according to rescue workers who are specialized in catching snakes.

The python will be released back to a forest in the Chonburi area. The rooster eaten was reportedly a beloved favourite of the owner of the chicken coop.

Lieutenant Colonel Weera told The Pattaya News that “It is getting cool and the snake was hungry and needed a warm place.”

“Last year there was about eight times that these pythons ate about ten roosters which cost many thousands of baht.” He added.
