Nine teenage motorbike racers arrested in Pattaya area last night

Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi-

Nine teenage motorbike racers have been caught with illegally modified motorbikes and were allegedly racing on public roads in Nongprue last night (October 26).

A group of school teenagers aged from 15 to 18 years old were stopped by the Nongprue Police in Nongprue at about 9:00 PM on Seventh Road after being observed driving at high speed with very loud exhaust pipes by Nongprue police officers.

The Nongprue Police told The Pattaya News that following a recent order from the Nongprue Police Chief Colonel Chitdaecha Songhong to step up patrols and prevent motorbike racing in the area officers had been actively looking for violators. The Police Chief had recently noted to The Pattaya News and local news media that a rising number of complaints had been made against primarily young motorbike racers driving dangerously fast and causing noise violations in the Pattaya, Nongprue and Banglamung areas.

As for the nine teenagers arrested, their motorbikes were seized last night by Nongprue Police and their parents were called to release them from detainment. Their motorbikes will be restored to factory standard and illegal modifications removed at the expense of the teenagers/parents according to Nongprue police. Fines will also be placed against the responsible parties.
