Bang Lamung –
A Bang Lamung police officer was rescued by local residents yesterday afternoon after he sustained a suspected epileptic seizure while driving his motorbike in the Pattaya area.
Rescue workers were notified of the incident at around 4:00 PM yesterday in Soi Nongket Yai.
Emergency responders and The Pattaya News rushed to the scene to find the officer’s motorbike on the side of the road. The officer was lying nearby confused and disoriented with several serious injuries.
The motorbike driver was Senior Sergeant Major Tatpong Thongtat of The Bang Lamung Police.
Locals helped to pull him out from the ditch before emergency responders arrived. He was later taken to a local hospital with several injuries including a suspected significant leg fracture.
Witnesses who assisted in helping the officer told The Pattaya News that the officer appeared to be driving normally when he suffered what appeared to be a seizure and lost control of his motorbike.
Senior Sergeant Major Tatpong’s friend told The Pattaya News that Mr. Tatpong has a history of epileptic seizures and that is believed to have been the cause of the incident.
Major Tatpong, although in extreme pain, thanked the residents for helping him after the accident.
