Schools nationwide in Thailand, except Samut Sakhon, set to be reopened on February 1st, following recent order of Ministry of Education

National –

Thailand’s Ministry of Education has issued a note this afternoon that all public and private educational institutions, except Samut Sakhon, are to be reopened to provide regular teaching and learning on February 1st.

All educational institutions nationwide, however, must strictly comply with the Covid-19 Coronavirus prevention measures prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health and their related health agencies.

Educational institutions in Samut Sakhon shall remain closed as the province continued to be designated as the ‘highest and strictest control zone’ by the CCSA. During the closure, the schools shall provide electronic teaching and learning or long-distancing learning, as instructed by the Ministry of Education.

Schools and other related institutions in Bangkok and its vicinity, including Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Pathom, and Pathum Thani, are allowed to be reopened for teaching in classrooms. However, the number of students in each classroom shall not be exceeded by 25 persons. Students should attend schools on alternative days, if the schools could not accommodate sufficient classrooms.
