Reader Talkback: Would you support opening a LEGAL casino in Pattaya? Why or Why not?

Feature article-

The following is our weekly reader talkback article, one of our most popular features. In this article, we ask our readers a question weekly based on major news items and at the end of the week, usually, Sunday, share their responses.

This week we want to ask our readers the following news-worthy question:

Would you support opening a LEGAL casino in Pattaya? Why or Why not?

This question follows multiple Covid-19 cases linked to illegal gambling in Chonburi and Rayong that have shut the province down for almost a month in terms of travel and closed many venues.  Some Thai politicians have suggested what was previously unthinkable…what about opening a LEGAL casino and controlling it as well as collecting tax?

Two locations for the unofficial proposal were named…Hat Yai and Pattaya.

We want to hear what YOU have to say about this proposal. A good idea or a bad idea?  You can respond here, on our social media accounts, or e-mail us for privacy at Pattayanewseditor@gmail.com.

We look forward to your responses!

We will compile the best and most diverse responses and post your feedback next weekend!
