Banglamung-

A truck driver has died after a cement wall which was being demolished collapsed over him in Banglamung today.

Captain Sornsupan Odtonsrianan of the Banglamung Police was notified of the incident at 10:00 AM this morning in Soi Banglamung 3.

Emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the body of Mr. Surat Poesang, 35, on the ground. His body was severely damaged during the collapse. Nearby was a crumbled cement wall which was being demolished.

A backhoe driver, Mr. Rungroj Jaijaroon, 31, was waiting for police at the scene.

He told police that he was driving his backhoe to collect some cement wall pieces to load into the back of Mr. Surat’s truck for removal.

Surat was standing near the truck while waiting for Rungroj to fill the cement slabs into the vehicle.

The wall, which was being demolished, had then collapsed over Mr. Surat unexpectedly. Rungroj tried to remove the cement slabs from Mr. Surat’s body but it was too late.

Police have not announced if any charges will be made regarding the accident at this time.
