Thai Anti-Government leaders bailed out, heavy protests in the heart of Bangkok

Bangkok-

A number of anti-government protesters rallied at the heart of Bangkok this afternoon, claiming alleged unjust behaviors of officers against their protest leaders.

The arrest of two leaders of Thai anti-government protests, Anon Nampa, 35, and Panupong Jaadnok, 23, has triggered chaos among their pro-democracy support base, claiming that the officials are being unfair and undemocratic.

Hundreds of the protesters are currently gathered at the BTS Siam Skywalk in Bangkok to voice themselves out against the alleged injustice while a large group of police officers is also seen at the scene. No major incidents have occurred, although some law enforcement officers alleged that the gathering was unlawful as a license for the gathering had not been obtained and that, although the emergency decree does not currently ban mass assembly, many protesters were allegedly screaming and shouting, causing officials to have concerns about the spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus. There were also allegations of lack of social distancing and mask wearing.  Protesters, meanwhile, stated claims that police were being overly heavy handed and attempting to shove and dissolve the crowd without legal precedent.

Meanwhile, their leaders are now bailed out around 5 PM today, August 8, but they are prohibited to attend or conduct any types of gatherings. Their bail was set at one hundred thousand baht per person and both face future court appearances for alleged crimes of sedition and violations of the Emergency Decree to control the Covid-19 Coronavirus.
