Online gambling base house in Nonthaburi raided this morning for reportedly running four illegal websites with 20 million baht in turnover

Nonthaburi –

The Thai Police Cyber Taskforce (PCT) raided a hidden base of four online gambling websites located in the Bang Kruai district of Nonthaburi, generating 20 million baht, this morning, March 29th.

The officials began their search inside a luxury house in Bang Kruai following a tip-off from a concerned citizen that the place was reportedly used as the operation base for large online gambling websites.

Upon the raid, 10 suspects, 5 men, and 5 women, who were believed to be web administrators were discovered along with 3 high-end computers. The second floor of the house was reportedly a residence for the employees.

According to the police investigation, the house was rented for 10 days and used for illegal activities. The group would persuade potential clients through advertising on the websites. About four websites were operated under the network for gambling with more than 200,000 people registered and a turnover of more than 200 million baht.

It was also found that the house was connected to 16 other locations that police had raided earlier this morning in the capital as well as some reported website bases in Songkhla and Chiang Mai.

Police General Damrongsak Kittipraphat, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, said that the staff would cautiously contact their network via video call to report and update if they found a place where the police had made an arrest and would run the operations with strict security which made it harder to capture the suspects and track down those who were involved.
