Thailand Ministry of Public Health adds Germany and France to list of eleven countries to advise Thais to self quarantine if traveling from

The following is a notice from the Thai Ministry of Public Health, with some notes from The Pattaya News at the end.

On the 2nd of March 2020, the Ministry of Public Health กระทรงสาธารณสุข advised that countries and areas listed below are experiencing ongoing #COVID19 transmission:

  1. China
  2. France
  3. Germany
  4. Hong Kong SAR
  5. Iran (Islamic Republic of)
  6. Italy
  7. Japan
  8. Macao SAR
  9. Republic of Korea
  10. Singapore
  11. Taipei and environs
    Germany and France are new additions to this list.

What does this mean if you are traveling from these countries?

1) If you are found to have a fever or respiratory symptoms on arrival in Thailand, you will be assessed by health officials.


2) If you do not have any symptoms, you will be asked to self-monitor at home for 14 days from the date of your arrival. If you or anyone else in your immediate family develops fever or respiratory symptoms during this time, you are asked to contact health authorities immediately and provide details or your recent travel.

If you have returned from any of these countries at any time in the past 14 days and have no symptoms, you are asked to begin self-monitoring at home until a date corresponding to 14 days from your arrival in Thailand.
