House fire alarms Chonburi residents in Baan Suan

Chonburi –

An overnight fire severely damaged a two-storey house in Mueang Chonburi last night (March 17th).

Firefighters were notified of the fire at 9:30 P.M. at a house in the Baan Suan sub-district.

Firefighters, rescue teams, and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find that a fire was heavily raging on the second floor of the residential home.

It took about one hour to control the fire in total. The second floor suffered severe damage while some parts of the first floor were also damaged from the fire. There was nobody present in the home during the blaze and no injuries were reported.

The house owner, Ms. Sukanya Thammaprasert, 63, told The Pattaya News, “There was no one at the house at that time as we were out to run an errand. We had not lit any candles. I believed that the fire was caused by an electric short circuit.”

However, the Chonburi Forensic Police are conducting a detailed investigation to find the exact cause of the fire. It was not immediately stated to the associated Thai press if the home was covered by insurance.
