Pattaya —
Donation money worth 2,000 baht was stolen from a noodle restaurant at night in Pattaya.
Chotika Chantakot, 36, a noodle vendor in Pattaya, met with TPN reporters to express her grievance about a thief who stole donation money from her restaurant in Wat Dong Mun Lek in Banglamung’s Nongprue subdistrict on August 22nd.
Chonika showed CCTV footage in which a skinny man who stood at around 165-170 centimeters tall crept into her restaurant by breaking a thin, wooden wall. The suspect wore shorts, a tee shirt, and socks as he scooped the donation money worth 2,000 baht from the donation tree and escaped through the wall, leaving a mere 20 baht banknote on the tree.
“The suspect saw a camera and put his mask on, so I could not see his face,” Chonika told TPN. “He acted as if he wanted to change his mind for a moment, but his conscience eventually failed him.” However, the victim said she was curious why the suspect still left a 20 baht banknote on the tree.
The victim filed a report at the Pattaya Police Station already and wanted to warn other vendors to secure their restaurants properly as the thief is still on the loose.
