Community development staffer killed in Sattahip road accident

Sattahip-
A staffer at the Sattahip office of community development has died after a pickup truck crashed into her motorbike in Sattahip yesterday.

Lieutenant Colonel Samran Suktoe of the Sattahip Police was notified of the accident yesterday afternoon on Sukhumvit Road.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find Sergeant Ms Bussaya Chumchuen, 44, a staffer of the Sattahip community development office.
She had sustained serious injuries. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Nearby, rescue workers found Bussaya’s damaged motorbike and a damaged red pickup truck. The pickup truck driver, 29 year old Thai woman Prapaphon Onntet was at the scene waiting for police.

Prapaphon reportedly told police that the motorbike Bussaya was driving immediately changed lanes in front of her without warning or a turn signal. As a result, she was unable to stop the collision.

However, Sattahip police are continuing their investigation and will review CCTV in the area to validate the statement made by Prapaphon.
