Chonburi-

A crane truck driver has survived after his truck overturned and caught fire in Ban Bueng yesterday.

Rescue workers were notified of the accident at 8:00 AM on Soi Khao Din – See Kao Road in Nong Samsark yesterday.

Fire fighters, rescue workers and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the overturned crane truck which was ablaze on the side of the road.

It took about 30 minutes to control the fire. The driver, Mr Chanatip Sriboonrueng, 24, who had also sustained back injuries, was taken to a local hospital.

The driver told The Pattaya News “I tried to avoid a collision with another vehicle on the opposite lane. I lost control of my vehicle before it overturned and caught fire.”

“I believed that the fire started from a spark from the battery as I heard the sound of an explosion.”

However, the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation by police.
