Pattaya-
The Pattaya City Mayor, Sonthaya Khunpluem, spoke to the Pattaya News today regarding the upcoming music festival scheduled tenatively for December.
Mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem said that the city will hold the festival likely in mid December, although the dates may be adjusted. There is also set to be a food festival around the same dates.
The music festival will take place over two days and will take inspiration from successful events around the world during the Covid-19 pandemic that threw great events but also ensured people kept their distance. The city is still looking at and considering final ideas. The following picture, taken in England, is one consideration.
The Mayor said that, although the festival will depend on the Covid19 situation both internationally and in the country, it will take all safety standards possible including temperature checks, required face masks, the Thai Chana application to check in and required social distancing. Like prior years, alcohol will be banned in the concert areas to avoid problems, although may be consumed outside.
The Mayor said due to the international border situation all artists this year will be Thai. In prior years the festival usually had several foreign artists.
He is confident that the festival will be a success and attract domestic Thai tourists from across Thailand.
