Seven arrested in Banglamung for working with illegal online gambling website

Banglamung-

Seven suspects were arrested in Banglamung yesterday after promoting online gambling on a website.

A team of police led by Major General Panthana Nuchanart from the Narcotics Suppression Bureau and the Banglamung Police Chief Colonel Patanachai Pamornpiboon raided a house in Nong Plalai yesterday afternoon.

They arrested seven men aged from 22-27 years old. Seized from them were six computers and four laptops. The men were not named to the Thai press.

They were working for the online gambling website ‘123yes’, police told the Pattaya press. The men told police that they had been hired to work for the website by an unknown investor and claimed they did not know his name, where he was or how to contact him.

Banglamung police are also continuing their investigation to take action on others who are promoting the online gambling website and to find the investors and ownership behind the website. Thailand has some of the strictest anti gambling laws in the world.
