Koh Larn-
Pattaya’s popular island, Koh Larn, which welcomes millions of visitors yearly, both domestic and foreign, will be getting numerous improvements and upgrades according to Pattaya Sonthaya Khunplueme.
Koh Larn, along with Koh Si Chang in Chonburi and Koh Samet in Rayong will all become “Neo” islands under a plan that is part of the larger Eastern Economic Corridor plan to upgrade Pattaya as a tourism and investment hub for the Eastern part of Thailand.
Some of the areas that Mayor Khunplueme said will be upgraded and improved are:
-A redesign and upgrade of the island’s main pier to better serve passengers and the large amount of visitors, which increase yearly (Not counting the current Covid-19 pandemic). It will be upgraded and improved at a cost of two million baht.
-Upgrading the wastewater treatment system on the island.
-Improving the fresh water management and helping prevent water shortages.
This is in addition to other projects, according to the Mayor, to help support local businesses and bring more tourists and visitors to the island.
