A motorbike driver has sustained serious injuries in a Pattaya accident early this morning.
Captain Chanan Kaesornbua of The Pattaya City Police was notified of the accident at 12:30AM at the entrance of Soi Khao Talo in Nongprue.
Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene.
A damaged motorbike was found on the road.
Nearby rescue workers found the driver Mr. Kittisak Rattanadilok Na Phuket who had sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital.
No witnesses were at the scene and Mr. Kittisak was too injured to answer any questions. However, police are continuing their investigation and looking into CCTV in the area to determine the cause of the incident.
This was the first major accident and injury in the Pattaya area since the seven deadly days of driving road campaign began. As road tolls have risen around the country a variety of checkpoints and tight police controls have mostly left Pattaya safe.
